Departures by Robin Jones Gunn Book Review

Last weekend I had nothing to do, so I sat down to read a book that I was given to read and provide a review for, so I snuggled up on the couch and read this book. There were actually two books in this one, and they were both similar in that they took back to the days of my teenage years when young love was in the air and I had so many questions about how life was going to turn out for me.

In the first story, Now Boarding at Gate 10, Christy Miller is a teenager getting ready to go off to college that had to move away from her home town a few years before. She returns for a weekend to celebrate her grandparents wedding anniversary. While she is there, she rekindles some old feelings that she had for a crush before she left, finding out that he had the same feelings for her before she left. He goes to college near her to get closer to her. The story continues in a future installment of the series.

In the second story, In The Event Of A Water landing, Sierra Jensen is another teenager that goes off on a weekend vacation with her friend Jana and they both learn that boys are not as gross as they thought they were, and they even begin to have feelings for two of Jana's brother's friends. When Jana goes back to her hometown when the weekend is over, she can continue to get to know them.

When I was finished reading this book, I reminisced about my life during those difficult high school years, they seem farther away then I would like to admit:) I recommend this to anyone who likes to read nice, romantic stories and young love.
